Equity markets are hitting and maintaining all time historic highs, so it seems reasonable to believe that the economy is performing at exceptional levels in order to justify the record-high valuations. Â However, when one becomes aware that there are at least 32 million unemployed, that many of the lost jobs will never return, and that GDP is expected to drop off a cliff, one could suddenly believe that they have been transported to the Twilight Zone.
